Greetings from balmy Kuwait! Camping season is about to start and I've received my first invitation to a desert BBQ. The temperature here is the same inside as outside. A glorious 24°C with a lovely trade wind off the Gulf which doesn't smell too much like something nasty. It's delightful to sit out on the balcony first thing in the morning. C'mon... I know you're jealous. I just read there is snow on the ground in Okotoks, AB.
I have decided against a Mac. Even though I did sidle through the Temple of Apple, I just couldn't bring myself to spend so much on a laptop. They really are WAY more expensive than PCs (at least here) and since Amir, my hero geek friend offered to take care of the virus for free, I thought I'll just go with what I have. Of course, Mr. Wonderful also offered to fix my laptop but he wasn't going to install the world's most effective virus killer. So I went with Amir.
The downside to all this is that when Amir called me today to ask if there was anything on the hard drive that I needed, I blithely and thoughtlessly said, "Oh no. It's all taken care of," I remembered as soon as I hung up that I'd not backed up my music. Not even one note. It was going to take another couple of hours and I didn't have the time, so I decided to do it later. Well, later is now and I'm music-less.
Oh well. If life were perfect someone would call it Heaven.
Take heart - Bill is trying to learn how to blog, and as the only bonafide, paid writer in this family, you might appreciate hearing about India from his perspective.
Stay tuned,
Love &/or affection,
